Workpackages
In order to achieve its objectives, the project is broken down into five workpackages according to complexity of the work and the experience of partners:
-
WP1 Project Management:
provides administrative and technical co-ordination to the project. It also includes all the results dissemination tasks.
WP-Leader: Yannick Carlinet, France Telecom R&D
-
WP2 Distributed Programmable Firewall:
designs the hardware and software architecture of a distributed firewall along with its control platform, and implementation over a specialised hardware platform.
WP-Leader: Dusan Gabrijelcic, Jozef Stefan Institute
-
WP3 Security Violation Detection:
defines packet and application-level models to characterize legitimate traffic, and detects when an attack (distributed or not) is thrown.
WP-Leader: Gerhard Münz, University of Tübingen
-
WP4 Policy-Based Adaptation to Violation Detection:
designs counter-measures to the detected attack in the form of policies, and deploys them at the appropriate places in the network.
WP-Leader: Morris Sloman, Imperial College London
-
WP5 Applications & Testbeds:
designs and implements demonstration applications and sets-up a global testbed to validate the interoperability, and to demonstrate and evaluate the strengths and weakness of the overall solution.
WP-Leader: Yannick Carlinet, France Telecom R&D
The interaction between the different workpackages is shown in the following figure.
WP 1 and WP 5 are transversal workpackages that interact with all the other.
